Matcha Nama Chocolate

Silky smooth matcha nama chocolate made easily in the microwave. These melt-in-your-mouth truffles are perfect for gifts or a special treat.

Prep Time: 15 minutes + 3 hours chillingServings: About 15 piecesDifficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 85g / 3 ozWhite chocolate(chopped or broken into pieces)
  • 15g / 0.5 ozButter
  • 45ml / 1.5 fl ozHeavy cream
  • 8g / 1.5 tablespoonsMatcha powder
  • for dustingMatcha powder

Instructions

  1. 1

Break or chop the white chocolate into small pieces (about 1cm). Cut the butter into 5mm slices. Place both in a microwave-safe bowl.

  2. 2

Microwave at 600W for about 1 minute until melted. Stir well with a whisk until smooth.

  3. 3

In a separate microwave-safe container, heat the heavy cream at 600W for about 20 seconds.

  4. 4

Add the warm cream to the chocolate mixture and stir. Add the matcha powder and mix thoroughly until well combined.

  5. 5

Spoon the mixture into silicone molds and smooth the surface. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours until firm.

  6. 6

Once set, remove from molds and dust generously with matcha powder using a fine sieve.

Tips

  • Silicone molds make it easy to pop out the chocolates.
  • If the mixture does not set well, place in the freezer briefly.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Hand-breaking the chocolate (rather than chopping) prevents small fragments that can burn and turn brown.
